What is the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation All About? Turbo Power Included

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation

GM is rolling out a new trim level of the upcoming 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. It’s called the Elevation. It will offer GM’s new 2.7L turbo four-cylinder engine as standard equipment. It’s based on the Sierra double cab configuration (aka: four-door extended cab). The truck offers a monochromatic look, unique 20-inch rims, and several engines and options to choose from.

Turbo Power

The GMC Elevation will come standard with a 2.7L turbocharged I4 engine that is rated at 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque. This new engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. We had a brief first drive opportunity with this engine, and it delivered smooth power.

The Elevation trim will also come with an optional 5.3L V8 and an 8-speed automatic. The 3.0L turbo-diesel will come at a later date in early 2019, according to GMC. The Sierra 1500 Elevation will go on sale in the fall of 2018, along with many other Sierra trim levels: SLT, AT4, and Denali.

The Elevation model offers a sporty monochromatic look, and you can configure it with an optional X31 off-road package that offers a 4LO 4×4 transfer case, underbody skid plates, Rancho off-road shocks, hill descent control, locking rear differential, and a dual exhaust system.

LED headlights, new terrain management system, and many infotainment options (including Apple Carplay and type-C USB posts) are all part of the Sierra 1500 Elevation story.
