2019 Pickup Truck of the Year Testing: Day Five
Day Five
Our final day of testing trucks on the Pickup Truck of the Year ended in Big Bear. The judges spent the morning taking a closer look at the interiors, counting skidplates, opening and closing the truck beds, and running through electronic menus on the trucks.
Final scores were added to the judging books and will be added up to determine our winner. Seat comfort, stereo sound quality, accessory operation, and interior storage are all part of how we score the trucks—in addition to towing capability and fuel economy, which we have been looking closely at all week.
After the judges added scores to their books, we took a run up to Butler Peak. The trail going up has some rockier off-road terrain than the previous trail we took. This was an opportunity to get the trucks to flex just a little. All of our 1/2-ton trucks were more than capable to make it.
