2020 Ram 2500 Interior: Spied

We can't say this is much of a surprise, but after seeing some of what our spy shooters have sent us, it looks like the all the best aspects of the 2019 Ram 1500 interior will be carrying over into the all-new Ram heavy-duty lineup we should be seeing at some point in the near future. Not only did our photographers find one well-dressed Laramie rolling down the road, but they were able to run up and get a few close-up shots of the dash and center console. Here's what they sent.

"Today we bring you a closer look at the "unofficial debut" of what we think is the 2020 Ram HD. Our latest shots reveal an undisguised Laramie interior.

"The current Ram HDs are getting long in the tooth, having been on sale since 2010 and only receiving a minor facelift in 2014 (lights, grille, updated interior). The new HD trucks fall in line with the recently debuted 2019 Ram 1500, and in the process, ditch the crosshair grille, a hallmark of the truck since the mid-1980s.

"Other exterior styling cues run in parallel to the half ton, but in a more muscular fashion. Inside, HDs will mimic the 1500 with thoughtful design and premium materials. Tech should come from the Uconnect 4 system, with or without navigation, with an 8.4-inch screen and the optional Uconnect 4C navigation and infotainment system with the massive 12-inch touchscreen center console display (not shown here, though we're predicting).

"Current power is derived from three engines: a 383-horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 with a compressed natural gas option; a 410-hp, 6.4-liter Hemi V-8; and a 6.7-liter inline-six-cylinder turbo-diesel available in three power tunes: 350 hp with 660 pounds-feet of torque, 370 hp with 800 pounds-feet, and 385 hp with 930 pounds-feet. The 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Hemis are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the three versions of Cummins turbo-diesels can be paired to either a six-speed manual or an Allison six-speed automatic. We expect the diesel to get an additional power bump in hopes of upstaging the Ford F-350 and Chevrolet Silverado 3500, which currently feature more horsepower and similar torque numbers."
