Sadly, today’s world may necessitate a bulletproof Chevy Suburban – like this one.
If you casually glanced at the INKAS bulletproof Chevy Suburban, you may never realize that it can stop a 7.62mm round, or survive a hand grenade attack. But it is built to do this. INKAS, a Canadian company has produced bulletproof and armored vehicles for about 20 years. In that time, they have built armored and bulletproof vehicles using a variety of platforms and for a worldwide audience.
Currently, INKAS has vehicles like the BMW X7, Bentley Bentayga, Lincoln Navigator, Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus LX 570, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, and many more. On top of that, INKAS also builds a variety of lightly armored patrol (LAPVs) vehicles that are built to be active in extreme situations.
The cool thing is: the company that builds these masters, also knows how to build a subtle, bulletproof Suburban. Even from the inside, it’s hard to tell where some of the armor is. Some passengers would have no idea. You can read more about armored vehicles.
According to INKAS, standard features include:
Entire perimeter protection of the passenger compartment
High-quality multi-layer bullet resistant glass
Protection for battery and electronic control module
Reinforced door hinges and other critical structure points
Reinforced suspension
Runflat tires/devices
These Suburbans appear to have the regular 6.2-liter V8s paired to a ten-speed automatic transmission. Suspension, brake, and other components appear to be adjusted to the customer’s preferences. Pricing is not available right now, but the base pricing for the LAPV starts at about $330,000.
