Ford Reveals Five Hardcore Off-Road Bronco Concepts
Just in time to celebrate the SUV's 55th birthday.
It's been 55 years since the original Ford Bronco debuted and with the reborn SUV now here, the celebration continues. Ford has revealed five new concepts of the Bronco and Bronco Sport that showcase numerous factory-backed accessories that'll suit those off-roading desires.
In addition, Ford's new off-road Bronco brand has just announced its first Off-Roadeo location in the hill country outside of Austin, Texas next summer. The event will be open to all Bronco and Bronco Sport Badlands owners where they'll experience some serious off-road adventures. Ford also says the Bronco R off-road racing SUV will officially return to the Baja 1000 this November.
Next up is the Bronco Two-Door Trail Rig, which has been designed to be the most hardcore trail rider out there. Based on the Badlands trim, new items like a Ford Performance front bumper, tube doors, beadlock-capable wheels, a 40-inch LED lightbar, and a winch have been added. A Yakima roof rack has been placed on the roof with special mounts for a shovel. A recovery kit and recovery boards can also be found up top. A rear swing-gate-mounted table is another cool convenience feature.
Three new concepts based on the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands off-road trim start with the Trail Rig concept, which tacks on 31-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain K3 tires, a one-inch lift kit, and Ford Performance off-road lights mounted on a front nudge bar. Like the two Bronco concepts, a Yakima roof rack has been added in order to accommodate gear such as a jack kit and jerry cans.
Next up is the TOW RZR that's aimed at helping adventure seekers haul more outdoor gear thanks to crossbars, a cargo basket, and a Class II Trailer Tow Package capable of hauling up to 2,200 pounds.
Lastly, the Off-Roadeo Adventure Patrol is packed with goodies like a platform to accommodate a high-lift jack and other types of recovery gear. It also has a light bar mounted to its rack system. There's even an interior bike rack that can hold two mountain bikes and a landing pad on the hood for a drone.
Ford also mentions over 165,000 Bronco customers have placed $100 deposits online in the first three weeks since the SUV's reveal.
