History Channel's 'Truck Weekend' Showcases Ford Pickups

Ford fans won't know what to do with themselves come Saturday, beyond the fact that they may feel compelled to stay indoors Saturday and Sunday nights. In a unique — and we're guessing quite lucrative — prime-time collaboration between the History Channel and Ford Motor Co., this weekend's History Channel evening lineups will be made up of F-Series pickup truck TV specials.

The weekend Ford fest will run Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time each night. Both evenings the History Channel will showcase television shows that, in one way or another, have a new, classic or custom Ford F-Series pickup at their heart. In addition, custom vignettes will air on the History Channel as well as on its digital and social channels.

Here are the particulars:

Saturday

  • "Truck Night in America," 8 p.m. EST Saturday: Custom-modified all-terrain Ford vehicles take on all types of terrain across the U.S.
  • "Truck Hunters," 9 p.m. EST Saturday: Competing truck builders compete to make a customer sale by improving two classic pickups.
  • "Born Tough: Inside the Ford Factory," 10 p.m. EST Saturday: This one-hour special chronicles the beginning and evolution of the Ford F-Series.

Sunday

  • "Truck Night in America," 8 p.m. EST Sunday: Another episode that celebrates the toughness and craftsmanship for the people and vehicles that push the limits.
  • "American Restoration: Truck Edition," 9 p.m. EST Sunday: Show host Rick Dale travels the country looking for the best Ford candidate for restoration and finds a long-forgotten 1956 for his team's 30-day restoration project.
  • "Trucks Transformed: Custom Culture," 10 p.m. EST Sunday: Truck customizers and expert rally and drift drivers Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr. show off their latest projects and offer building tips.
  • "Rescue Trucks," 10:30 p.m. EST: This program highlights first-responders and the specialty trucks they've modified and use for rescues.
