The Ford F-150’s Six Engine Choices Are Confusing: Here’s Our Expert Guide To Choosing The Best One For You (Video)

April 25, 2019

The Ford F-150 is not only the best-selling pickup truck in America, it’s the best-selling vehicle, and with so many engine options, there is no doubt going to be lots of questions floating around about which to buy.

The F-150 offers a total of six engine options, with the base engine being a naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6. There is only one other engine option under the hood of the F-150 that isn’t turbocharged, and that is the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8.

Moving on, every other engine under the hood of the F-150 is turbocharged, starting with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost. Then we have the larger 3.5-liter EcoBoost, which is offered in two flavors, either with 375 horsepower or 450 hp.

Finally, the F-150 now offers a 3.0-liter turbodiesel in its lineup, pumping out a respectable 440 lb-ft of torque.

Power is an important consideration with these engines, but so are price and fuel economy.

So which will end up being the best deal for your F-150? Watch the full video below as we break down each engine in full detail.
