The Top 15 Pickups and SUVs that Are Most Likely to Hit 200,000 Miles

September 17, 2018

A new list has been released, predicting which vehicles are most likely to make it to 200,00 miles.

The list was already dominated by trucks and SUVs to begin with, but because this is TFLTruck, we are going to look at the top 15 trucks and SUVs that are most likely to hit 200,000 miles.

The website Iseecars.com used a total of 13.5 million vehicle sales in 2017 from the 1981 through 2017 model years to mine the date. The outfit was then able to see how many of these used vehicles had over 200,000 miles, leading us to this list.

The data is presented as a percentage of the total number of vehicles sold in 2017 with over 200,000 miles. Heavy duty trucks and commercial vehicles were not included.

So here is a good indication of the trucks and SUVs that will last you the longest.

15. Chevy Colorado

The Colorado starts the list, coming in at 1.5 percent. The majority of these trucks were likely the last generation Colorado, though some of the new 2015 models could easily have over 200,000 miles on them by now.

14. Nissan Titan

The Nissan Titan just edges out the Colorado at 1.7 percent.

13. GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra makes the 13th spot on the list, coming in with a total of 1.8 percent.

12. Ford F-150

This one is actually a little surprising considering just how many brand new F-150s are sold each year. The Ford is a total of 1.9 percent of total vehicle sales with over 200,000 miles on them.

11. Chevy Silverado

The Chevy Silverado is next on the list, capturing 2.1 percent of overall sales.

10. Toyota Tundra

The Toyota Tundra arrives on the list at number 10, is the last half-ton pickup to be found. From here on out, its midsizers and SUVs.

The Tundra is actually tied with the number 9 vehicle at 2.2 percent.

9. Honda Ridgeline

The Ridgeline is number 9 on the list, tied with the Tundra at 2.2 percent.

8. Toyota Tacoma

The first Toyota on the list is the Tacoma, coming in at number eight with 2.6 percent.

7. GMC Yukon

The GMC Yukon is number seven, and it starts the full-size SUVs which dominate the top of this list. It had 2.8 percent.

6. Chevy Tahoe

The Yukon’s twin, the Chevy Tahoe is number six with 3.8 percent, a full one percent jump over the GMC.

5. GMC Yukon XL

The larger GMC Yukon XL lasts even longer than its smaller counterpart, capturing 3.9 percent of the total market for vehicles with over 200,000 miles.

4. Toyota 4Runner

The Toyota 4Runner is a tough go-anywhere SUV and according to this list, made up 4.2 percent of all vehicles sold with over 200,000 miles in 2017.

3. Chevy Suburban

Just like the GMC, the long-wheelbase version of the Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban, comes in higher on the list, with a total of 5.2 percent.

2. Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is second on the list with 5.4 percent.

  1. Toyota Sequoia

No big surprise here. Another reliability list topped by a Toyota! The Sequoia made up a total of 6.6 percent of all vehicles sold with over 200,000 miles on them in 2017.
